The Euromicro Conference has been established in order to bring together people from business, industry, research and academia who are interested in solving problems related to the technical innovations and ever increasing applications of information technologies in every aspect of life. The effort was started in 1975 when a workshop on "Micro-Architecture of Computer Systems" was held in Nice. From 1976 till 1993 the annual Euromicro meeting turned into a Synposium on "System Architecutre", and in 1974 the term Euromicro Conference was adopted. The general session structure was changed in 1990 to consist of several parallel tracks, with program subcommittees responsible for each of them. Euromicro '98 underwent a major change in the organization, providing a conference platform on which a number of theme-related workshops is built. While this allows for very deep technical discussions among the theme-specific experts the participants have still the chance to get involved into different technical areas and solutions to their problems related to microelectronics and computing. In this way, the Conference participants still experience a thorough discussion under a global theme. The proceedings are published by IEEE. The Euromicro Conference has kept up with the dramatic changes in technology and new application areas. At many occasions the Conference has held a pioneering position for presenting technical breakthroughs. Currently, the Euromicro Confernce solicits the submission of papers for the following workshops:
