Journal of Systems Architecture - Editorial Policy
JSA is an international journal published by Elsevier and dedicated to host
the mostly advanced results of research activities in the field of Computer Science and Microelectronics.
Formerly named "Microprocessing and Microprogramming: the Euromicro Journal", JSA reflected in its contents, far more
than in its name, the evolution of Computer Science and Microlectronics over the last decades: from the computer
architectures "in-the-small" (typical of the pioneering age of microcomputers) to the computer architectures
"in-the-large", necessary to be competitive with the development trends of the computer industry in the new
millennium.
JSA is aimed at disseminating research results related to the different architectural aspects of modern information
processing systems. To this purpose, besides normal issues collecting individual contributions from scientists from
academia and government research labs as well as from industry, JSA features special issues managed by guest editors and
focused on specific hot topics. In addition, invited papers are solicited, especially from chief industry executives, to
give readers a flavor about trends of evolution in modern Computer Science and Microelectronics.
JSA is managed by an editorial board constituted by two editors-in-chief (Krysztof Kuchinski
and Paolo Cremonesi), an editorial office,
and several subject area editors. Once received, each paper is forwarded to the most appropriate
Subject Area Editor, who will take care of the paper review process, identifying proper referees, collecting their
opinions and suggesting a final decision for the paper itself. Electronic submission of papers is strongly recommended,
to allow easier management of the review process and to speed up the decision about final acceptance of the papers
themselves. JSA policies include as a major goal to monitor in a strict way the reviewing process of each paper, thus
providing for reasonable submission-to-publication times.
Submission Information
Contributions (written in English) should be sent to the editorial office. Submissions must contain
a compact summary (maximally 150 words) and the full postal address (including email/fax) of the corresponding author. Please submit your manuscript by e-mail as a printable file format with your pager as postscript or PDF to the
editorial office of the journal. The Editors-in-chief will arrange that the paper is transmitted to the appropriate area-editor who will then begin the review process.
